A NEWCASTLE KID ON THE BLOCK

It's all any body wants right? A clean slate... A breathe of fresh air... a new beginning...

Who gets too determine when the 'now' will end and the new will begin... yes, it is my job to tell us what you will be wearing next season, what colours and what prints, what jewels, bags and what shoes... but those are the small things in life... right?

They are not noted on the calendar, they are not like a birthday or a new year... but new things are things that change us, ideally they give us hope... a new way of living, and a new way of looking at the world. They are a way of letting go of where you are now, taking a leap and grabbing onto what you want next... In saying this, we have to remember that there are always those special things and those very special people that are worth holding onto...and everything else will eventually become insignificant.

There is a new kid on the block, watch out Freja and Abby...Newcastle gal' Claudia Muller (16), is hailing from down-under and about to come banging down your new yorrrrwwwwk doors....

We wont be letting this little fish go...

JUST A SACK

Finding the perfect hand bag is like searching for a soulmate in the eastern suburbs.... Its so unattainable your almost set up to fail.

We are constantly looking for the perfect bag that takes us from every day to every night. Who would we be without our "L" arms right?
But the problem with having only 'the one' soul-bag is that it makes you feel a constant dissatisfaction with yourself and your life as it is... Unfortunately we are constantly looking for that perfect 'bag', the bag in which you may never find...

Any man of fashion knows that 'man- bags' have become a necessary tool and style accessory. No longer seen as solely a woman’s item, men’s bags are masculine, attractive and the perfect most practical addition to any contemporary wardrobe. 

So, I got to thinking...How do we assign value to people in our lives the same way we do to material things such as the perfect handbag and shoes?... Do people have a value or just a title? And just like your perfect handbag will be replaced by next seasons Wang, will your soulmate?

I would like to think that people have more than one great handbag and more than one soulmate, I am incredibly lucky, I have already found three... L,B&Y. Sometimes without even knowing, your perfect bag may already be sitting in your drobe. Sometimes, just sometimes we are lucky enough to have our best friends as our soul mates and our man-bags as exactly that.... a necessary tool and style accessory.

And to the bag who thinks he's as perefect as a WANG...Your no bag... just a sack...

A SIDE OF WEDGES

Anyone who's ever been wedged in the thoughts of indecision will know that it can be seriously irritating.. Black bag or brown bag?...pump or wedge?...blonde or brunette... I could list a million things...

But at some point... you have to make a decision or it will consume your thoughts until you choose one outcome over the other... and even then... it always continues to harass you as you will worry whether you have made the right choice in the end...

We are bombarded with decisions constantly, and most do not have obvious outcomes. Most have pros and cons, boundaries and guidelines and most of the time we find our selves wedged right in the middle of the 'yes' and 'no'.

Regardless, it doesn't matter WHAT you remain indecisive about, the outcome is always the same: the longer you remain indecisive, the faster your options seem to disappear.

Boundaries don't keep other people out. They fence you in. 

Every day is unpredictable. That's how it is. 

So, I got to thinking... when your wedged in between the fence of your past and present.. and there is no longer only two choices involved...is it better to do what you know is right or do what you feel is right? Do we choose the practical pair of orthopedic shoes or the pair that we absolutely love but in-turn hurt you undoubtably every time you put them on... do the pros weigh up to the cons?

Decisions... there a killer... I think i'll get wedged for now.

We thought they were over until Proenza Shoulder blew us away with the SS2010 show, as models paraded down the runway in surf-inspired, neon wedges. After seeing the revival of the wedge, Riccardo Tisci sent ski hi sculptural wedges worthy of a balancing act down the runway of Givenchy.

These are my most prized shoe purchase since my clogs... The GORMAN Lace Up 'BOXER WEDGE'
