There's been an on-going debate about leather shorts, this Summer season we are no longer seeing the leather mini as our staple leather piece in our drobe and like the ultra cool leather leggings last year, shorts will be the quintessential staple in every girls wardrobe this fall/winter. . Although L shorties are almost impossible to pull off, If you can, do. Phillip Lim and chloe' would certainly agree, as they showed bangin' leather shorts on the fall '09 runways.
I found a gorgeous pair of vintage black leather shorties in a boutique on Haight St. today. They are pleated, high waisted with double cuffs. I am going to make a leather sash for them for the waist to make them a little more contemporary. I also need to take them up slightly but apart from that they are perfect! Such a bargain, I ended up getting them from about $30 aus. I am now is Canada which makes it a little cold to wear them out but I will be flogging them asap in aus.
Carried over from Spring, we are seeing leather shorts throughout fall. In winter layered over dark tights and paired with a romantic ruffle blouse.
